Farm to Fork Food to Stay Dinners
There has been a list of specials we would like to serve that just aren’t compatible with take out. They are dishes that are favorites of ours but need to be eaten right away so we’re going to offer an eat in dinner once a month. We’ll turn the back room in Forage into counter service with seating so you can enjoy dinner in the store. We’ll serve on plates with cutlery and offer this dish as dine in only. There will be a limited number of specials and dinner will be served at 6PM sharp on a first come first serve basis. You will need to purchase your meal at the till and then come into the back room when your number is called. We will offer these dinners on the last Wednesday of each month (Feb 27, March 27, April 24…)
Our Forage – Farm to Fork Food to Stay special for Wednesday, February 27th will be Khao Soi Kai. It’s a Northern Thai dish of mythic reverence that caught my attention on Anthony Bourdain and I’ll Have What Phil’s Having. In a world of over the top reactions to food both these guys were almost giddy eating it. The dish reflects the intersection of Chinese, East Indian, and Thai cultures in this region. It is fresh wheat flour noodles, coconut cream, yellow curry broth, and chicken thighs served with fried noodles, lime, shallot, cilantro, and pickled mustard greens on top. We made it last year for a Thai dinner and I get it. It’s sweet, rich, tangy, smooth, spicy, crunchy, creamy, and complex all in one bowl. We’re going to make it with ingredients from Sunworks Farm, Lund’s Organic Farm, Highwood Crossing, Eagle Creek Farm and spices from Silk Road Spice Merchants.

Friday – Roast Organic Chicken
