Feast of Fields 2012
Just a reminder that Slow Food Calgary’s Feast of Fields is coming up on Sunday, September 16th from 1 to 4 PM in the Garden at Rouge Restaurant. This is by far one of the best afternoons you can ever spend in Calgary as chefs and restaurateurs team up with local producers in a stunning display of all that is great in our local food scene. Here are the specials for the week of August 27th, 2012:
Monday – Honey Hoisin Beef
Chilled Hoven Farms organic beef with a honey hoisin glaze served with soba noodle salad and stir fry vegetable salad $16
Tuesday – Greek Patty
Broek Pork Acres Berkshire pork and Hoven Farms organic beef patty with lemon and oregano served with Greek salad, flatbread, and tzatziki $14
Wednesday – Vegetable Lasagna
Peppers, summer squash, mushrooms, spinach, ricotta, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and provolone layered with fresh house made pasta served with an Italian green salad with balsamic vinaigrette $14
Thursday – Prairie Chicken Salad
This is a dinner sized main course salad. Sunworks Farm organic chicken, green beans, white and wild rice, toasted sunflower seeds, shaved Sylvan Star gouda, greens, and saskatoon berry vinaigrette $14
Friday – Roast Chicken
Sunworks Farm roast organic chicken served with mashed potatoes and our famous gravy $45 whole $28 half $16 quarter
