Inspired by Local!

Inspired by Local is happening Saturday, August 17th at the Farmers & Makers Market at cSPACE. This event will showcase local farmers, growers and makers in celebration of Alberta Local Food Week and Alberta Open Farm Days.  Among other festivities there will be three chef led tours of the market (10:30, noon, 1:30).  During the tour each chef will select ingredients that will then be featured in a short cooking demo. The numbers for each tour are limited and Wade (chef/owner Forage and Infuse) will be doing the noon tour.  You can sign up for a chef market tour in the Courtyard on the West side of cSPACE and Wade’s cooking demonstration and samples will start around 12:30pm.

Here are the daily specials for the week of August 12th:

We’re in the thick of the Alberta produce season so we’re putting as much of it on the menus as we can.  A couple first time things this week – Chicken Tacos and a S’mores Cake with a layer of toasted marshmallows and graham crumbs!

Monday – Italian Meatloaf

broek pork acres pork and sunworks farm organic beef meatloaf with italian herbs and tomato glaze served with mascarpone mashed potatoes, balsamic carrots, broccoli with garlic chips, and pan gravy  $18

Tuesday – Chicken Taco Dinner

soft tacos of tres marias corn tortillas filled with marinated and grilled sunworks farm organic chicken thighs, cilantro, onion, salsa verde and rojo served with black bean, avocado, and tomato salad  $18

Wednesday – Macaroni & Cheese

classic comfort food – we pack ours with sylvan star gouda and cheddar cheeses  $9  bbq chicken skewer (2 oz.)  $5

Thursday – Thai Chicken Salad

main course salad of sunworks farm organic chicken, red curry rice noodles, lettuces, broccoli, cabbage, and green beans with coconut lemongrass dressing  $17

Friday – Roast Organic Chicken

sunworks farm organic chicken served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and our famous gravy  $50 whole  $30 half  $16 quarter

Saturday – Cinnamon Rolls, Quiche, Scones
