Marda Loop Justice Film Festival

Forage is once again sponsoring the Marda Loop Justice Film Festival because we believe in constantly learning and challenging our world view.  The festival runs November 13^th to the 18^th at a variety of locations culminating in 2 days of thought provoking films at River Park Church this weekend.  We have donated food to be sold in the cantina at the church on Saturday and Sunday so you can keep fueled up with food made from locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.  We’re featuring farms like Sunworks, Lund’s Organic, Broxburn to name a few.  There will be a meat and vegetarian option each day along with cut veggies, pita chips, and a hummus.  All of the proceeds from the sale goes to the Festival so help support this important, free admission event.  And try to get a chance to see one of the incredible films they have chosen for this year’s festival.  You can pop in for 1 or plan a whole weekend.  Check out the Festival program here.

Here are the daily specials for the week of November 12^th:

monday – sweet & sour meatballs

broek pork acres pork meatballs in tangy sweet and sour sauce with fresh pineapple and bell peppers served with steamed rice  $15

tuesday – soul food dinner

smothered chicken (sunworks farm organic chicken browned in gravy), roasted sweet potato wedges, creamy macaroni & cheese, and collard greens  $19

wednesday – baked tortellini caprese

scarpone’s four cheese tortellini baked with basil cream sauce, tomatoes, bocconcini, and mozzarella  $10  lemon rosemary chicken skewer (2 oz.)  $5

thursday – beef burrito

sunworks farm organic beef, tomato rice, black beans, corn, peppers, spinach, and jack cheese in a tres marias flour tortilla served with avocado salsa salad  $16

friday – roast organic chicken

sunworks farm organic chicken served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and our famous gravy  $50 whole  $30 half  $16 quarter
