Forage for Grey Cup

I have so many fond memories of Grey Cup as a kid!  Not the games themselves but the party!  The food, my parents’ friends, and the 25 cents a square pool for the game score.  In celebration of great food memories, we’re offering some classic ‘retro’ appetizers to help with your parties this weekend.  First up a Cheese Log made with cream cheese, blue cheese, and celery rolled in toasted pecans.  My Mom’s recipe says to serve with bacon dippers – remember them!  We have our Spinach Dip and our Maple BBQ Chicken Wings are required game food.  Another classic was Pizza Buns – a mixture of cheddar, olives, green peppers, and tomato paste that you would spread on tray buns and bake.  These were one of my favorite things growing up and we’ll have the spread available this week.

We have also started to carry sausages from Salt Craft Meat Company.  It’s a new product made right here in Calgary and we love it.  Finally, you can round out the feast with Dancing Goats Farm Waltz and Sylvan Star Gouda – a couple cheeses we always have in our cooler.

It doesn’t really matter if you are watching the game or not!  We’ve got everything you need to party for whatever reason you decide!

sunworks farm organic beef and broek pork acres pork meatloaf with tourtiere herbs served with pan gravy, cheese curd mashed potatoes, maple mustard roasted root vegetables and quebec red tomato ketchup  $18

friday – roast organic chicken

sunworks farm organic chicken served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and our famous gravy  $50 whole  $30 half  $16 quarter
