Turkeys and Tourtieres
Once again we will be offering fresh Winter’s Turkeys for Christmas. The free range turkeys will be in the 16 to 18 pound range and cost $3.85 per pound. Their organic free range turkeys will be in the 13 to 15 pound range and cost $6.00 per pound. Preorders must be in by Monday, December 19 along with a $20 deposit. They will be available for pick up during regular Forage hours Thursday, December 22, and Friday, December 23. Call Forage to book your bird (403)269-6551.
This year we will also be offering our delicious Tourtieres. The nine inch pie is stuffed full of Broek Pork Acres Berkshire pork, Vital Green organic veal, Hoven Farms organic beef, Lund’s Organic carrots, onions from Eagle Creek Farm, and herbs and spices from Silk Road Spice Merchants. We do a more savoury spiced tourtiere than the versions that have more sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. The
tourtieres feed about 6 adults, cost $29, and are first come first serve. They will go on sale in Forage on Tuesday, December 20. We will also have jars of traditional Quebec Red Tomato Ketchup available that week. It’s the perfect accompaniment for the tourtiere!

Monday – Roast Berkshire Pork
Broek Pork Acres Berkshire pork roasted with herbs and garlic served with mashed potatoes, pan gravy, and root vegetables $15
Tuesday – Ale Braised Chicken
Sunworks Farm organic chicken braised with Wild Rose Brewery Brown Ale served over fingerling potatoes, chard and carrots $15
Wednesday – Vegetable Pot Pie
Carrots, potatoes, peas, kale, parsnips, and peppers in a light herb cream sauce with biscuit top $10
Thursday – Beef Burrito
Hoven Farms organic beef, tomato rice, beans, peppers, and cheddar in a Tres Marias flour tortilla served with fiesta salad $14
Friday – Roast Organic Chicken
Sunworks Farm roast organic chicken served with mashed potatoes and our famous gravy $45 whole $28 half $16 quarter
