forage weekly specials – july 18th

Now That Stampede is Over…

We can get on with the rest of our summer!  We are in a bit of a holding pattern waiting for the season to catch up this year.  Normally we would be deep into greens, peas, and cherries from the Okanagan but generally speaking everything is 2 to 3 weeks behind.  As things come in you will start to see them on our menus and in the shop.  We have started using Leaf and Lyre produce again and Lund’s Organic farm should be at the market this week.

This year we are going to be producing several unique preserves, jams, and jellies.  All small batch, unique creations, hand numbered, and in limited supply.  This week in Forage you’ll find our Rhubarb Chutney.  It’s made with rhubarb from Wade’s parent’s garden and spices from Silk Road Spice Merchants.  It’s tangy and flavourful and we think it would be great on chicken and pork.  Look for other new items over the summer.

Also, a reminder that Forage will be closed the first 2 weeks of August for our summer break.  Over the years we found that it’s just easier for everyone to take their vacations at the same time and all come back refreshed and ready.  We’ll be back August 14th and look for Forage’s Fourth Birthday Party in late August.

Monday – Spanish Grilled Bison

Buffalo Horn Ranch bison grilled with paprika and lemon served with potatoes and roasted peppers, tomatoes, and green olives  $14

Tuesday – Greek Turkey Patty

Winter’s Turkeys patty seasoned with lemon and oregano served with pita bread, tzatziki, and greek salad  $13

Wednesday – Roasted Vegetable and Chevre Tart

Roasted market vegetables on butter puff dough with Fairwinds Farm chevre served with a green salad and raspberry poppy seed vinaigrette  $13

Thursday – Vietnamese Chicken Salad

Sunworks Farm organic chicken, carrots, peppers, cucumbers, rice noodles, cilantro and greens with ginger lime vinaigrette  $13

Friday – Roast Organic Chicken

Sunworks Farm roast organic chicken served with picnic potato salad and our famous gravy  $40 whole  $26 half  $15 quarter
