New Book From dee Hobsbawn-Smith

It was thought that a voice of our farmers was lost when dee decided to move backto the family farm a couple years ago but her time has been well spent.  Her new book Foodshed – an Edible Alberta Alphabet is a tremendous compilation of the famers and their stories that make up our local food scene.  Many of these farmers are suppliers to Forage so this book will give you a chance to learn more about the people who feed you.  The book doesn’t sugar coat local agriculture either and dee exposes many of the trials and challenges facing our small producers.  We have signed copies in Forage now and there are a number of events around the city this week to help launch the new book.  It’s a must read for anyone who eats!

Wednesday – Roasted Tomato Risotto Cake

Roasted tomato risotto cake topped with Old West Ranch Buffalo Mozzarella and served with vegetable ragu  $13

Thursday – BBQ Bison Meatloaf

Buffalo Horn Ranch bison meatloaf with a tangy BBQ glaze served with buttermilk mashed, and creamy corn slaw  $14

Friday – Roast Organic Chicken
